What a perfect way to start my birthday: grabbing coffee with friends and taking a walk with Pippa in my new Clarks Indigo boots! A lovely gift from Clarks, as soon as I opened the shoe box I felt like it was my birthday (oh right, it was) when I layed eyes on these beauty boots. The maroon color is perfect since it goes with all the signature fall colors: black, brown, navy. And these boots are definitely made for walking! In NYC I cover a lot of terrain by foot and they are so comfortable (plus I don't have to worry about catching a heels in a subway gratet!) I can't wait to see the rest of the Indigo line, thank you Clarks!!! www.clarksusa.com

This Alexander McQueen scarf is an oldie but a goodie, it's been out for ages but they have updated the design with fun new colors! It's one of my favorite accessories for the spring season. It makes jeans and a tank top look chic and put together. I love the blush color because it makes the skulls look a bit less severe. All hail McQueen!

One of my favorite things to do in NYC is take food tours. You pick an area of the city (Chinatown, Meatpacking, Soho, ect) and a food guide takes you to all the hidden food gems in the area. You typically stop at around 6 spots and get to taste their specialty. You also get a little insight to the history of the area. I went to the East Village, an area full of diverse culture and restaurants. These are a few of my favorites! PS, if you decide to go on a food tour, make sure to come hungry...and bring some Pepto or Zantac, overeating is a hazard!
This was a hidden Ukrainian restaurant that has little grey grandmas cooking in the kitchen. They don't have any set hours so hopefully you're lucky enough to catch them when they are open.
Absolutely delicious! I have no idea what it is (slight language barrier with staff) but it was SO good!
Pommes Frites, a restaurant that only serves french fries and is open until 3am. That's right, french fries until 3am! It's like the bar gods answered our prayers!
Pommes Frittes serves over 20 different kinds of ketchup and dips.

Fried fish balls. Yup, I said it, fried fish balls!
Authentic Italian Cannoli with pistachios!

One of the best experiences I had in Mexico, aside from the unlimited flow of tequila and the beach, was swimming with the dolphins at our hotel. I would have loved to bring one back with me to NYC and keep him in my bathtub. One of the tricks they do is push you so you come up out of the water, almost like backwards water skiing. Piece of advice- if you ever get a chance to swim with the dolphins, go for it! But when you do the push, one hand in the air, the other hand on your bikini bottoms to hold them up....no free shows!

To start off, apologies for not blogging in the last couple weeks. With work, grad school finals, and the Sandy-forced move, things have been a little crazy. But what better way to pick-up then with a wedding? My girlfriend Erica married the love of her life, Caleb, on a beautiful evening in Cancun, Mexico. The weather was perfect, slightly breezy and you could smell the ocean. Erica was the quintessential perfect Bride, not a hair out of place she looked like she stepped out of a bridal magazine. Their friends and family traveled thousands of miles to hear them exchange their vows (and maybe the unlimited margarita's and Corona's played a small part.) After a heartwarming ceremony, filled with tears of happiness came the raging reception filled with fist-pumping, air guitar and shots of tequila poured directly into your mouth. As for wardrobe, I decided to go with the gold, lace BCBG Max Azria dress. I thought it was only wedding appropriate for a wedding in Cancun especially since the reception was on the beach and everyone was barefoot.
